We have been well and truly pummelled by stormy weather in the UK in recent weeks. It is enough to get anyone down! With Storm Ciara followed closely by Storm Dennis, staying indoors has been the best plan of action for many. I am an outdoor girl at heart though, so I find it really difficult to be stuck inside and limited with what to do.
The compulsory ‘indoor time’ this weekend inspired me to think of fun trips out and how to spend your time doing something enjoyable and different during the miserable winter months. Of course, in an ideal world, I would love to be jetting off to a tropical island and enjoying some sunshine on a beach. If you are stuck in the UK for a bit though, a trip to London and taking in a West End Show is a cool thing to do.
Among the shows that are currently running is TINA – The Tina Turner Musical. I think music is a great way to cheer up the dull days and this musical follows the star’s journey from humble beginnings in Tennessee to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll! It is an energetic and fun performance that will definitely lift your spirits.
I am also loving the look of MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY, which is currently hosted at the O2 Arena in London. This is a super fun dance show that features the best ABBA songs that are performed by actors and musicians. All the meanwhile, you can enjoy a delicious dinner while the show takes place around you. It is a great experience for friends and family and this will be a really exciting night out.
If you are partial to a bit of horror, The Woman in Black is continuing its run at the Fortune Theatre. It has been going for 30 years can you believe it! The ghost story is said to be terrifying and the production will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.
Everyone loves Harry Potter and you can get your fix at the Palace Theatre. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is running here, and the production is based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling. While it is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the very first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage.
